Posture Contol Insoles, a simple solution to a complex problem Information on how and why Posture Control Insoles work

Posture Control Insoles, manufactured by Posture Dynamics, an innovative solution to problems associated with postural pain. There are many factors which can lead to poor posture, one such factor is hyperpronation. Hyperpronation is the tendency of the fore foot to lean inwards. In essence our base of support (our feet) collapse inwards stressing the entire body structure; ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, spine, shoulder girdle, and even the jaw can be affected. Joints tend to glide unevenly causing wear, some muscles become short and tense while others are over stretched, ligaments and tendons are put under strain, and postural muscles become fatigued from continual compensation. Over time the body becomes tired and worn. Traditional Orthotics have attempted to alleviate this problem with an arch support and a heal cup with limited success. The basis for this is from dated models on foot mechanics. More recent research done by Morton and then Rothbart (see links for web sites) have identified the foot structure which leads to hyperpronation and a simple method to correct it. The basic premise is that the big bone of the inner forefoot (first metatarsal) and the big toe are underdeveloped at birth and most of us to some degree are born with this condition. The Posture Control Insole incorporates a wedge to 30% deficit underneath the first metatarsal. This wedge is not a support but rather a proprioceptive stimulator which informs the brain of the first metatarsal deficiency and the brain informs the muscle of the body to readjust correcting posture. Results vary from individual, if fitted properly and allowing adequate amount of time, clients report decreased muscle and joint pain, increased energy, mobility, and strength. A simple and inexpensive solution to a complex problem. For more information, see www.rothbartsfoot.info
